When I first tasted Castleberry’s chilli or stew, I made the comment that it tasted like dog food–now I know why!!! I never knew Castleberry’s made dog food–and for Natural Balance–poor Dick Van Patten!

I don’t know if this is important but I wanted to share. On Wed 7/18 I bought some Natural Balance canned cat food. I gave them half of the large can split between the two of them. It was a seafood blend. The one with the blue label. The next afternoon one or both of them had gotten sick several times on the carpet. I gave them the rest of the can on Fri and Sat morning someone got sick again. My speculation is the food and now with this latest recall… even though its not for cat food Im not takeing any chances. I am so frustrated. Now I have no Idea what brand to feed my cats.

Shana, I’m sorry to hear about your cats…I hope they’re feeling better now. I’d probably contact Natural Balance anyway.

And since you’re trying to figure out what to feed your cats, you might want to go on over to our forums at http://www.thepetfoodlist.com. There are quite a few people over there who have had the same frustration about what to feed their pets. Others may have some insight that’ll help you find something you feel comfortable with.
