Ring, ring, Woof! Woof!

in Pets, Random Thoughts

archieAsleep.jpgIt never fails…whenever the phone rings Archie, my border collie, finds something or someone outside the house to bark at. He runs to the front window and lets everyone know that he’s in charge…barking in his best “get outta my world, and I mean NOW” bark. And Lydia, my Aussie mix, either stays with me, or if she’s not in the same room, she’ll come find me and bark from there. I’m not sure if she’s protecting me or if she wants my protection, but I do like to think her goal is to keep me safe!

So anyway, here I am with a phone in my hand, trying to talk to someone about business and my dogs bark…and bark…and then bark some more. Thankfully they’ll usually calm down after I put the phone on mute and let them know everything is OK and they really don’t need to bark. Since my clients are also pet people they understand and wait patiently for me to calm my dogs down so that we can actually hear each other. Then, just as things get quiet on my end, I laugh because my caller’s dogs start in on  their “get outta my world” barking!

I’m so glad I run a pet-related business and have pet loving clients!

Oh yea, and that’s my boy Archie resting up for the next ring of the phone!

We have the same problem at our house – err, workplace!

I can think of lots worse problems though, can’t you? 🙂

Oh, yes – lots worse! We love working with our Mum, sometimes she has us ‘load up’ when she has a big important call. We don’t mind, cause she gives us treats to go in there! Hey – would you like to exchange links? I’m blog rolling you!

Yep, me too. My BC is the frantic barker, and my Aussie comes to find me and is mostly quiet. I’m sure if I didn’t have my BC, my Aussie would rarely bark.
