Movie Review and Contest: The Search for Santa Paws

I really enjoyed Disney’s The Search For Santa Paws. (aff) Although I’m not usually a huge fan of talking dog movies, I thought this was a great movie! The story is typical Disney with a few twists and turns, and a happy ending. And of course, the dogs are adorable! The ones playing Paws are beautiful, but I also got a kick out of the street dogs, Haggis, Rasta, and T-Money. This is a real feel good holiday movie for kids and adults!

Here’s a short synopsis:

In the movie, when Santa and his new best friend, Paws, discover that the boys and girls of the world have lost the spirit of the season, they take a trip to New York City. But after Santa loses his memory, it’s up to Paws, a faithful orphan named Quinn (America’s Got Talent’s Kaitlyn Maher), her new friend Will (The Game Plan’s Madison Pettis) and a wonderful group of magical talking dogs to save St. Nick and show the world what Christmas is really all about. Do you believe in Santa Paws? Experiencing this sure‐to‐be holiday classic, full of fun, adventure and a carrying the timeless messages of the holidays, with surely delight the entire family!

Here’s what you’ll find on the DVD/Blu-ray:

  • An interactive Animated Pop‐Up Book – ‘Buddies’ puppy star Rosebud reads a holiday story featuring new canine friends from The Search For Santa Paws
  • Sing‐Along Mode ‐ colorful lyrics added to the film’s song sequences, so audiences can sing along to the film’s fantastic new songs.
  • Music Video – tween favorite Debby Ryan (Disney Channel’s Suite Life on Deck) performs a great new arrangement of ‘Deck The Halls.’
  • Deleted scenes

What makes Christmas special for me and my 4 dogs is seeing them open their presents. Its so funny to watch them rip the wrapping paper off their gifts.

This Christmas is very special to me due to all the wonderful things I have received this year! I’m in a beautiful house that’s large enough to open my home to more dogs (6 now and 1 foster!) and 2 cats. I also am very fortunate to have the an amazing man and his 5 year old living with me now! So we get to have Christmas with a kid! He and I are planning huge growth for the business and he supports me unconditionally and I’m proud to share the business with him. I am so grateful for the opportunities that have come about since losing my job in June. I have wonderful clients whom I love and love being able to have my dream job! Watch out 2011!

My niece loves dogs and I know she would love this movie!!! She just got her first dog last summer and is the best dog parent in the world. She’s even teaching her parents how to be better with pets. What a kid!

The best part of Christmas around my house is when my boys (little dachshunds) are running around in their little fleece jackets. I’ll upload some photos to Facebook in the next few days. There is nothing sweeter on a cold day that snuggling up to a little dog in fuzzy jacket. 🙂

I have a beautiful dog who I adopted from the shelter last month. She looks a little bit like the dog that plays Paws, and my boy and girl would get a kick out of watching “their dog” in a movie. The trailers make me think this is a very uplifting movie, and who doesn’t need that these days?!

Christmas is very special to the critters and me because they are rescues and I’m not always guaranteed to have family around anymore. My family is scattered all over the US as they have grown, but my critters are here to stay and they know it. They get extra special meals for Christmas and usually a new toy. But they ALWAYS get loving!

Our dog, looks just like the dog starring in this movie. This really wowed my little one. We all like being together at Christmas and just having a good time.

I am Riley’s grandma, and I just wanted to tell you that my daughter got the package today. I tried to sneak it in as a gift from “Santa”, but my daughter knows me way to well! She sends her love and thanks for the great gift and says the dog is nearly twice the size as baby Riley (born on Thanksgiving)! Thanks again for all you do <3
