Pets Need a Voice Too Nationwide March

** For a list of pet foods NOT recently recalled go to The Pet Food List **

This weekend marches throughout the country will be held to honor the pets who have died and those who are suffering because of the recent pet food recall crisis. Pets Need a Voice Too, created by Jen Hoeflein of Texas, exists in memory of her cat Timber who died of renal failure November 17, 2006. The Pets Need a Voice Too marches are her way of speaking up for her dear Timber, and allowing others to speak up for their pets as well.

I know a lot of people here in Austin read this blog and I’d like encourage you to attend the PNV2 March on Saturday. It’s at Auditorium Shores, starting at noon, at the gazebo. Even if your pets haven’t become ill or died because of the recall, Jen welcomes everyone who loves pet.! And by all means, bring your pets. I hope to see some of you there!

Besides Austin, other cities are having PNV2 marches as well…

Speaking for those that cannot

We are marching in memory of our pets that have lost their lives, we are marching in memory of those pets that are fighting for their lives, we march as pet owners, dog lovers, cat lovers and average citizens that are tired of the lowered safety standards for goods coming in to this country and we demand that all commercial pet food be tested and removed if tainted.

Cities with organized events include;

Reno, Nevada
Uniontown, PA
Los Angeles, CA
Oceanside, CA
Ottawa Canada
Austin, TX
Jacksonville, OR
Portland, Maine
Boston, Mass

Cities and small towns not listed above will be participating in private memorials on April 28th.

The media has greatly misrepresented the true numbers in this tragedy. Retailers across the country continue to stock their shelves with tainted and recalled pet food. Pets all over the world continue to die and get sick from foods that the FDA has not put on an “official” recall list and have not enforced the removal of all tainted products.

This is something that just absolutely NEEDS to be done!!! I’m so glad to see the marches…and I look forward to the blogs after!!!!!

My stomach absolutely friggin’ turns whenever I see that only 16 pets have died! It’s cruel….and it’s a lie that needs to “publicly” be straightened out!!!

What a wonderful event!!!……Should be VERY newsworthy if we yell loud enough!…..what do you think?
