Things look better in the light of day

in Lydia's cancer,My pets

Lydia and I both finally got some sleep this morning – after our sleepless night. I had couple people email me privately after reading my last post asking, “Do you really think her cancer is back?” The answer is no, I don’t think her cancer is back. She’s been doing so well, and I really do feel like she’s fine.

The first couple times after her diagnosis, when she wasn’t feeling quite right, I got super nervous, my stomach got tied in knots, and I worried way too much. I don’t do that so much anymore. Instead, I look at what’s going on and deal with it knowing that while it could be something serious, it probably isn’t. So the “what if” is still there but I don’t obsess over it like I did before.

So, back to how Lydia’s doing today. She’s feeling a heck of a lot better. She had a little breakfast, spent a little time outside, did some obligatory barking when the mailman came, and is now napping. Since she’s due for a follow-up ultrasound in the next couple weeks, I went ahead & scheduled that for later this week. And in the meantime, I’ve been instructed to stop her meds for a couple days.

Things really do look better in the light of day – especially after getting a little sleep!

Paws still crossed but thinking maybe she pulled one of my classics: if it smells good, it’s on the ground & hasn’t run from me, I eat it! End of story. Oh, the words that come out of my humommie when I eat some yukky old thing off the ground. Wow…….I wonder if she ever drove a truck or worked in construction!!!!!!!!!

Please keep us up to date…….I’m sure everything will be fine. Glad you both got some sleep.

I was afraid to read your post for fear the cancer was back. I am hoping her ultrasounds brings reassuring news. In the meantime, I am glad that Lydia is feeling better!
