2009-calendar

I know it’s a little late in the year to be giving away calendars, but I got a couple of these fabulous calendars from my friend Sue, from Verysupercool, and would like to offer them to our readers here at PetsitUSA. Sue is a professional photographer and put the calendar together for the Central Texas Dachshund Rescue. If you love dachshunds (or any dog!) you’re sure to enjoy the photos!

We have two calendars to give away and will select the winners on April 15. At least there’ll be two lucky people on tax day!

Here’s how to enter:

It’s easy! Just leave us a message…brag about your pet…dachshund or not! We just want to hear about your pets.

See our contest page for official rules.

Congratulations to our winners, Stacie and Tim!

Oh my gosh!! I love dachshunds and believe it or not, I don’t have a calendar yet! My dog, Felix, is a little guy who is part dachshund and the sweetest, most adorable dog I’ve ever known.

I have a 7 year old dachshund that I adopted from a dog rescue. Missy was so afraid of everything when I brought her home but now she’s best friends with my other dog Lulu. The two of them curl up on the bed together and sleep together all night. it’s so cute.

My sister has two dachshunds. Harley and Baxter. They absolutely love going on vacation with my St. Bernard, Belle and German Shepard, Buddy. They give it their best trying to keep up running down the beach and it seems that being with Buddy and Belle makes them feel like they are just as big as the big dogs. But they are all most adorable when they curl up together to sleep and the chaos finally becomes quiet. Our entire family are animal lovers. Animals of every shape and size. There are no bounderies when it comes to a pet.

We are allowing 2 minis to be our guardians while the human they own finishes college. Parker has been with us for 4-1/2 years and is a black and tan dapple. He loves long walks in the neighborhood, scent collecting, sleeping hamburger-style, tail-wagging, and his racquetball. Ellie is an 8 month old black and tan mini that came to us 6 months ago as a rescue. She has given Parker a good playmate to help keep him youthful. She loves pestering Parker, chewing rawhide (and much more), sleeping hot dog-style, and hopping for people. Ellie is an especially good protector. While Parker will go to the front window to ward off intruders to our yard such as birds, cats, etc., Ellie will rush to defend the area under my chair.
It would be worth paying for grad school to keep our guardians around for awhile longer.
